cook cablights??

hi,
my buddy was telling me that he heard of a guy that cooked his amber cablights and it made the amber film flake off, therefore making clear cablights is this true? if so what temp???

I doubt that, at least on ford, I believe the plastic is amber, not a film layed in the lens... not 100% sure though

maybe ill got to the junk yard and just get one and try it
