the chrome on my front bumper has been worn off in some spots. well now with winter those spots are starting to rust some now. I want to try to stop this and protect the bumper the best I can. is spraying clear coat over this a good idea or some car wax or what should I do to try to prevent thie bumper form rusting and getting pitted and all.
you need to stop the rust first. or sand it all off.
The best thing to do is have the bumper re-chromed. But, you can probaably sand, prime, and paint with that chrome spray paint they have out if you wanted to just "rig" it.
And polish the bumper too, where ever there is chome left, polish it with chrome polish, it will take some of the rust off. and also protect it.
