improving ride comfort

I have a 97 F350 7.3. Looking to make the ride a little more smooth. What parts would help improve this?

2wd or 4wd?

Any lift or mods?

Best thing to do is new bushings all around and a good alignment. Knowing tire size and brand as well as what psi you keep them at. These things aren't quite built for comfort.

I've heard a shackle flip kit really smooths the ride out a lot.

Ya I hear the reverse shackle kit (RSK) is the bees knees for improving ride.

I just put Bilstein 5100's on my '97 PSD CCLB with no suspension mods (I run LT285/70R17 tires). Granted the old ones were not good but the Bilsteins noticeably improved ride quality. I suppose it is somewhat dependent on one's expectations though; I expect it to ride/handle like a 20 year old 1-ton on leaf spring suspension. That being said I'm very pleased with the improvement and well worth the money.

When I bought mine most of the bushings in the suspension were in need of replacement. I've replaced the sway bar bushings with Energy Suspension parts. Next I plan to do the track bar and spring eye/hanger bushings. Body mounts are also in the not to distant future. Attention to these parts as well as the steering components will give your OBS a nice refresh in the ride and handling department.
