On my 96 PSD i have the ZF 5 speed. on both sides there is an access pannel for a PTO system. The seals are leaking tranny fluid pretty bad. My question is, would there be a gasket set to replace them or would RTV be the best option.

they do make a gasket for those and the gaskets do work better

what exactly is that gasket called?? "pto" gasket?

yeah just tell them you need the gasket for the pto , they will know what you are talking about
