Question 95 F-350 Super Duty Diesel E4OD is Toast

I'm looking to rebuild my trans and have been doing some research. Folks are saying to upgrade to a few later model hard parts. What year do I need to have the best planetary and other parts? Does my 95 model already have these items?
My brother has a trans shop and he also has some cores to get parts from. This truck has a park brake drum on it so I think I will have to use my case.I will get a new convertor and cooler.

Heres a bump for ya bud, by the way welcome to the ORG! I just had my 4r100 rebuilt. I had it upgraded with a transgo shift kit and a slightly better converter. I'm not sure on your planetary gear question.

95 Super Duty

Welcome, The super duty trans is the same as a 4x4. the park brake bolts up where the transfer case would. the 97 trans are are the best year to build. one little known fact is the park brake assy. has its own oil supply, it has a plug on the side. only takes a few oz. of atf , the assy. dosent have a oil drain. the park brake assy.is very expensive to replace . don't want you to learn the hard way.

Thanks Guys, I do have a 97 year model core to rebuild. That's the one I will use. I have purchased a Dacco converter (P.N. 3696-6) to help with the rebuild. Should I replace the shift pack or could I clean mine and get buy?
