trannytemp senser
i bought new guages for my truck. can anyone tell me if there is a aux hole on the trans for another trans temp senser. also where is the stock senser and could i put it in the stock location without the computer throwing a code?

there is a plug on the left side of the trans its a magnetic plug. thats where i ran mine its converter outlet temp so this is the hottest the oil will ever get. It will read some case temperature too but not really a big deal. A guy at work tied into his cooler line right out of the trans but i dont like adding t's in the system like that. the stock sensor i believe is on the top you can take it out and leave it plugged in and it wont throw codes. i would leave it for an "idiot" light though incase your not watching things.

I got this off the Diesel Manor site. It says its for 99+ 7.3 but they had the same trany so give this a try.

FYI. That is not a magnetic plug and is not converter outlet temp. It is a pressure port for mainline pressure. Be sure your temp sensor can handle 300 lbs of pressure before you install one there or you'll be sitting on the side of the road. |
