Clutch install.....

Just installed my 96 F250's 3rd clutch in 259k miles, not too bad considering its done alot of pulling and work. The clutch is a Phoenix kit w flywheel rated at 350 horse. Needed to replace flywheel due to starter failure chewing several ring gear teeth up. Installed with kevlar pilot, old pilot was in pieces (previous one was too), and a new slave cylinder. Bleed slave several times to get decent pedal, but ive got to really mash it to the floor to disengage, and engagement is short like just an inch off the floor or so.. One thing i did change was a clutch fork that was listed for use with a solid flywheel, and it was slightly shorter than the one that was in it (stock type). You think the slave system still needs bled or maybe wrong clutch fork? I sure as hell hope its not the fork

How far is the slave rod / fork tip moving? If it's at least 1/2" or so, then the hydraulics are okay, and there's something up with the fork, throwout, pressure plate, etc. If it's less, then the hydraulics need to be bled, or you need to install a complete pre-built pre-filled pre-bled hydraulics kit (the easier option when doing either the master or the slave, since when either one goes, the other is usually not far behind).
