Transfer case interchangeable?

On a 95 f350 with the 7.3 and E4OD what transfer cases are interchangeable? Mine started making some nasty noises. Thank you.

Any 250 or 350 case will bolt up, the issue you run into is linkage and drive shaft connections. For instance a 250 would have a single cardan front shaft vs the double cardan on the 350. The best thing to do is crawl underneath and get the number off the case then match the outputs up to the donor so you can still use the double cardan front and slip joint rear.

I'm pretty sure a case from a 91 should be the same but I don't want drive 3 hours to get it if its not.

Yes. 86-95 is the BW 1356 with a slip yoke on the rear
just be careful of cab-n-chassis, they are different

96/97 is a 4407 and has a bolt on flange

And like stated above the F250 and F350 front yoke is different, but you can take yours off an reuse it on the "new" t-case if it is a 1356
