'97 F350 wont move.

I just finished servicing my powerstroke and cleaning up some odds and ends under the hood. Started the thing up and it runs great and sounds good. I let it idle for a while to get it up to temp and get the new antifreeze mixed up. About 30-40 min. Went to pull out and go mount my plow and the truck would not move. Forward, reverse nothing. Tried shifting the transfercase and nothing is moving. I checked the trans fluid and the stick was dry. Added fluid but still no movement. Did I burn out the trans pump while idleing with no fluid in the trans? Is there a way to check the pump pressure. The trans was on its way out but it did work. Now nothing. Any advise would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.

Well, I let it sit for a few days. Went back to it, started it up , put it in gear and it drove off. Has been working fine ever since. Im still waiting for it to quit on me when I least expect it. So far everthing is working (knock on wood).
