I have a 97 f350 2WD DRW automatic. I drove it this morning on the ranch for ~30 minutes, never over 20 mph. When I parked it I noticed it rolled back more than the usual "play" in PARK but I didn't think anything of it.
I just went out to try to run some errand and it wouldn't start. After playing around I discovered I could start it when it displayed REVERSE because apparently the gear selector isn't lined up and its actually in NEUTRAL there. That being said, I can use all gears except PARK because the shift handle doesn't move up that far now.
I have to take the truck to Ford tomorrow anyways, but I'd like a little more confidence in the diagnosis. Is the selector link stretched/broken? What happened?!
