Is a e40d worth having

So my question is I just got this 1995 psd with auto trans and it shifts very irratic sometimes I think ok I Can deal with this then there is sometimes I just feel like a idiot driving down the road seems like when cold it'll shift alright inless I hammer down then it shifts funny expecially when it's warmed up. So if I get a rebuilt tranny with all the updates, shift kit, valves drilled out and something about triple clutches will it shift like a normal truck should or will it always be a pain n my a$$ pls help don't wanna waste money if it is just a crappy trans then i will just make it a manual

It's all stock by the way but will be doing straight exhaust chip and intake

A heavy duty rebuild with all the updates, valve body properly set up and a custom chip with shift points setup makes a huge difference in how the e40d acts.
