Slow to engage from dead stop

I have a 97 F250 with an Auto and it seems like it takes a second or two before the truck starts to move from a dead stop. The trans does not seem to slip or shutter under hard accerleration. The fluid and filter were changed earlier this year and the magnet in the pan had what seemed like a normal amount of metal dust on it. The problem only seems to happen once the trans has warmed up. The truck is all stock except for a muffler and cat delete pipe and it has a little less than 180k.
