oil pan sludge

im noticing a black sludge build up on the back side of my oil pan below the trannyon my newly bought 95 psd it only has 86 k original miles is this common leakage!!!

First of all no leakage is common, you have ones that you know where it's coming from and ones you don't . If there is anything leaking in the valley of the motor it will run down to the back of the motor and down the bellhousing. So start by cleaning the motor really good and see if you can trace the leak back to it's source and we can go from there
