Question 5spd bucks in reverse

I have only had my '95 PSD for a few months and right after I got it I replaced the stock dual mass p.o.s. with the basic Luk kit. Now when I back up with my trailer (approx 10k lbs) the trans wants to buck and kick like mule, makes it very hard to get it where you want it!

Is this normal? Does anyone else have that problem?

Also, it seems to 'clunk' sometimes when shifting, esp to 3rd gear. T/O bearing maybe??

As a side issue, what is your guys definiton of 'riding the clutch'?
I've always thought it was pushing the pedal and just coasting as opposed to shifting to nuetral and releasing the clutch.

Thanks

When backing that much weight try useing low range so your not trying to slip the clutch so much. If you rest your foot on the clutch pedal all the time that is rideing the clutch.
