hard shifts

I have a 96 e4od its shifts so hard from 3rd to od. Took it to a tranny shop no codes they said could be accumalator springs. I changed them no difference.Nothing in the pan fluid was in good shape.any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.Thanks

i have the same thing going on in my 97 im stumped on what it is. no slipping in any gear and trans is never hot

Same problem here to.. Subscribed.. I have read changing the rear diff. speed sensor will cure the problem but I changed mine and it still shifts hard. No codes, no blinking o/d light. I have also come across TPS sensor posts above the gas pedal but I have not changed it yet. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Only thing I'm Afriad of is on my old 99 psd when it was shifting harsh I took it in for service thery tote it down and the clutches and TQ were shot

These old for trans are known for that buck! i had an old 94 F150 with the E4OD in it, it bucked so hard from 1-2nd gear, tranny never went on me and i had 285,000 miles on that beast. They are known for it, doent do any damnage really to the trans that i have seen

Yeah I had a 94 7.3 idi years ago it never did it buy my 97 it's super bad just for fun did a break stand to feel it shift andiycshifted good from 1-2 then if felt like a stick shift like is disengaged and slammed into third felt like I was about to drop a driveline lol

Yeah I had mine trans replaced about 60k miles ago it shifted hard before and still shifts hard after, I took it back to the mechanic and he said everything checked out. Autofair- Where is this solenoid located?
