e4od pressure relase ?

my dad has a 96 psd and this summer was pulling a trailer when the trany dumped the fluid on the ground and stoped few months later added fluid and worked just fine then two months after took a crap any advice ??? i told him he shoulda got a zf5 like me but any advice on whats going on would be great my local stroker nut told me something bout a pressure release valve that caused it to dump fluid but i dont know much about autos....

If the front pump seal gets hot it might leak but not fail untill the temps get back to normal, or it might fail or blow off and sit on the tq lol. Then all the fluid will dran and you won't be moven anwhere
