weird noise from tranny???

Hi Im a 17yr old powerstroke enthusiast but i have yet to learn it all... I have a 1997 5speed manual and the past 1000 miles or so i have noticed a noise, at idle it sounds like a bird chirpping then as i drive and speed increases it turns into a buzzing noise that happens in 1 second intervels (zzzzzzzzzzzz)...1 sec...(zzzzzzzzz)....1sec...and so on, I have no idea what this could possibley be, however i know that its not the belt or any bad pullys upfront, The only thing i could think was flexplate or loose bolt laying in clutch??? however it has a newer Valair 400hp/800tq single mass clutch with around 15,000mile on it. ANY IDEAS?? btw the truck has 208,000 mile on tranny

Maybe pull the inspection cover and have a look. Possibility that your throwout bearing may be going? Cheers!

Sounds like a throw out bearing to me, my friends old truck chirped at idle and constant engine rpms because of it.

if you put slight pressure on the clutch, hold it in a little does the chirping go away?
