over drive light flashing and hard shifts ?

96 psd ext cab long bed drove it home last night everything was fine went to drive it this morning and over drive light is flashing about 10 seconds after truck is running and truck is also shifting hard...any ideas

You really need to find out what code it set by having it scanned. Don't drive it for extended periods in limp mode because it is hard on the trans. Is your speedometer working?

code is p1728 continuous trans/converter slip but it dosent feel like its slipping yes the speedo is still working

How does the fluid look and smell? Did you clear the code? If the code is cleared does it come right back?

check the plug going to the solenoid pack. common issue on e4od and 4r100 as is the solenoid pack itself. the plug is on the pass side kinda on top. if there is corrosion going on then check for shorts - maybe replace with a new pigtail..... good luck
