E40D with a alto ego

Hey all i know these trannies have a ton of issues and I've searched all 3 main forums for a clue but maybe you guys out there can help, so here's the deal if i'm patient and let the truck warm up in the driveway for 10 minutes the tranny shifts fairly smooth, it's always hard a slightly hard shift in second but that's it, on the other hand if i back it out of the drive and start down the road the tranny shifts a lot harder not breakneck but still pretty hard and it will stay that way even after the trannys warmed up, the other symptom it has is if i have to jump on the pedal like getting on the freeway in a hurry the truck shudders between 3rd and 4th and when it goes into 4th it hard shifts, the tranny will hard shift all day even with stop starts but...if like i said i let it warm up slowly in the morning it runs beautifully all day no super hard shifts no shudders, also will a 4r100 valve-body (from Riff-Raff Diesel) fit and work in E40D and do you guys think it will solve shift issues, Truck is a 96 F350 CCLB approx with 190000 on it and i had the tranny serviced about 5000 miles they said they dropped the pan and changed the filter and fluids including the fluid in the TC, it didn't make any difference to shifting...Cheers Ozzy
