need help with MLPS

I just put a new e4od in my 97 daily driver. The trans wroked fine in the truck it was out of but I put it in and it worked fine as i moved it around the yard but now it takes like some good time for it to get into first gear so it can move. and when its in gear it feels like its slipping in and out of gear. could it be cuz of the MLPS? any help would very helpful!

if the trans is bad how could that happen when it worked fine before the only thing i did was clean the trans so maybe water got into the mlps? or is the trans no good?
