ZF needs rebuild

I have the ZF transmission in my truck with 158,000 miles. It's gonna need to be gone thru and have new syncros installed. Are these transmissions pretty easy to rebuild, and any ideas what a new set of syncros will cost?

What makes you believe it needs rebuilding. Ive seen trucks with 300,000 miles and more that havent been rebuild. Do you still have the dual mass fly wheel ?

Im not sure what it has for a flywheel. It only clashes in 2nd and 3rd. Im running amsoil synthetic ATF in the transmission.

I've never rebuilt one, but I don't think they are terrible to rebuild. You would need some good sized pullers and probably have to improvise some sleeves and other stuff to do it. The synchro sets are pretty pricey (last time I looked they were about $200 a set (there are 3 sets). When mine finally got bad enough, I just went down to a ZF-factory distributor and got a ZF-factory rebuilt unit for $1800. Cheers!
