tranny wiring harness
hey guys i have a 1996 ford f350 7.3 and the truck caught fire and burnt the tranny harness the harness im talking about goes from the main plugs (2) up near the master cylinder and runs down the driver side frame rail and connects to the neutral safety switch and 2 plugs for the tcase. mine is a 1996 what year harness will fit? i bought a 1997 but in one of the main plugs near the master has to extra wires that mine didnt have. all the other plugs are the same and they ALL plug in. now the 2 extra wires in the 97 harness mean anything because the 96 main plug wont have those 2 extra pins for anything to touch to right?

Is your harness for stick or auto, and is it for e4od or 4r100? And didn't thry swap to the 4r100 in 97? You could possible have wrong harness or they go somewhere that you haven't found kause it did burn it all, sorry bout luck btw

Is your new harness is from a 4r100 I don't think it will work, you may need a harness from 94.5-96 or atleast a 97 with e4od. That could be your extra wires

They are pretty similar, but could be extra pins on the 97, try it see if it works or not. Don't really know other than that, I can look at my tranny in the morning see what they go to

The 4r100 does have 2 extra sensors on it. Late '97 (actually '98) was the first year for the 4r100. You can't use an e4od harness on a 4r100 , but you MAY be able to use the 4r100 harness on the e4od.
