What's the consensus on clutches?
So, I've heard some really great things about going to the Kevlar pilot bearing/bushing... and I've heard some really bad things about them as well. I just ordered up a LuK solid flywheel and clutch kit, and from what I understand, they come with a kevlar bushing and not the roller bearing.
What have ya'll been using? Any kevlar users out there who have had problems? Last edited by ekfinn; 08-22-2011 at 07:04 AM. Reason: New question |

Yep, I've got one that is junk now. Just put clutch in and have to pull it back out less than 8,000 miles later

I've got a solid fly wheel in mine and i don't think will hold up over time if your doing a lot of pulling I've had mine in since march of this year

I pulled the bushing out and put a roller in with my southbend

I'm not sold on the Kevlar bushing as well. I had one go bad in my Southbend Con-O. Don't know if the old trans input shaft was going out or if the bushing went bad, but I'd probably opt for a needle bearing and some good lube on it if I had to do it again (sold that truck after putting in a new trans and Kevlar bushing). Cheers!
