No trans cooler?
Ok I recently bought a 97 f-250 7.3 and followed everyones advice and bought a 6.0 trans cooler. The only problem is I took my grill off to take a look and I so not see a factory trans cooler. It should be mounted in front of the radiator right? If there is not a factory cooler what else am I going to need to install my new 6.0 cooler?

You may have to go under and trace the lines. On my Superduty, it was down low between the AC condenser and the intercooler. Not sure on the OBS trucks.

Mine is right in front. You can see it through the grill

I see something in the front but it does not look like the pictures of the 7.3 trans coolers I have seen on line. I was told the it should have 9 horizontal cooling fins, the fins on this are vertical. Is this part of the A/C system? It is located on the upper passenger side of the radiator. I found lines coming from the passenger side of the trans. Are these the lines for the cooler or are there other lines that come out of the trans?

I'll post up pics of mine. I have lines that run from the trans into the bottom of h radiator and then out to a cooler in front then back to the trans.

You're probably looking at photos of SD coolers.

I think you are probably right about the SD coolers. I found a picture yesterday from an obs that looks like what I have. When I put in my 6.0 Trans cooler do I need to top it off with trans fluid?
