what problems are associated with the overdrive light flashing?

all problems. Light flashing means the computer has seen a problem. 1 or 2 or 3 or100.

deffinatly get the codes pulled...could be as simple as the speed sensor in the diff going.....

my uncle is gettin a snap on scanner hopefully tomorrow and i think it may be the tc because of its functions while driving. if it is the case do i need to get a whole trans or can i get a tc and fix it

If it has just started and if the trans pan has no metal in it, then you may be able to get by with jus t a converter.
