hard shifts

i have a 96 psd and if i get on the gas it seems like the tranny shifts hard but it doesnt slip or anything just a hard shift?

Is the light flasing on the end of the shift lever? Mine will do that when it detects a fault and will go into a "fail safe" mode and shift via pressure instead of electronically and the overdrive light will flash at the end of the shifter.

My 97 F350 just started that yesterday after picking up the holy grail of Christmas trees lol, any suggestions or repair ideas? I was going to disconnect the battery to reset the computer to see if that works.

no i my od light doesnt flash it pulls a trailer good and drives good just until i get on the gas then it will start it doesnt do it all the time but i thought maybe the tranny filter? or something

It is really hard to tell when it doesnt do it all the time, when is the last time the fluid was changed? That is where I would start by having the tranny flushed.

my trans shifts hard wen im just moderatly into it. only time its decently smooth is wen i dont get into throttle at all like 1500 shifts itll go in fine or if i let off right before it gos to shift its fine or wen im full throttle its fine. only shifts hard wen im just moderatly into it. any ideas? im gona mess with it l8r if i come up with somethin ill let you guys no

rdhed. correction .. the trans does not shift by pressure and not electronicly when in fail safe mode. The trans is still electronicly shifted but the computer commands higher pressure to prevent slipping
