E4OD issue

While low speed cruising 15-20 MPH, if I step on it, 90% of the time the truck will shift into 2nd with the TC locked and really lug down. This especially happens when going around a corner then punching it. Sometimes it will realize I have it floored then downshift. But not always. Other than this issue the tranny seems to operate just fine.

Question # 2: How can I tell if someone before me has installed a shift kit? The TC will lock up after 1-2 shift. You can feel it and see it on the tach. Also the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are very hard under WOT. Is this normal?

Question # 3: Do your guy's trucks seem to run a lot better when cold? Mine seems to have more power and different shifting points...
