Trans shifts Hard from 1st to 2nd.....

I just had my trans rebuilt at a mom and pop shop

, it shifts really hard from 1 -2nd and seems to shift better after that. I had specifically told them to make sure they blew out all the oil in the cooler. I did disconnect the batteries for about 1hr, and seemed to shift just a little better but still hard. Prior to replacing the tranny I was getting crazy acceleration and i cleaned out the TPS and no more codes or wierd acceleration. What else could be causing this hard shift? I have a TS 6pos chip i had pulled out, would i get better shifts with that chip in?

My 1-2 upshift is pretty fierce. It will bark the tires in certain situations (like foot to the floor accels) But I set mine up that way. (trans reprogramming kit etc....). There have been a lot of updates from Ford to the E4OD over the years and many shops apply them as GP. Do you know if they installed the latest pump upgrade or any sort of valve body modification?0

I dont think they installed any of that, i certainly didnt ask for it. Any sugestions on what i could do to ease up the shift??
