Auto trans puked fluid after 300 miles at 70
97 F350 did the fluid puke thing out of the ft seal, pulling a 6k pd 5th wheel trailer.Just peachy, 400 miles from home with a blown trans seal.Added 2 quarts and parked the thing overnight.Next morning no leak.150 miles to my destination so what the hell, I went for it after buying two gallons of atf.Pulled into lubbock where the trans puked out a quart on the ground.This appears to be fairly common with these transmissions.So I pulled the trans and replaced a perfectly good looking seal and replaced a perfectly good looking drain valve in the ft pump.Added a larger cooler and I am going to install a trans temp guage.Any ideas why this happens.The highest temp reading I got with my hand held temp gun was 155 degs on the case.I am open to any ideas or suggestions.
