tranny running hot?

so my buddy told me that e4od doesnt run hot at all. that once you hit around 190F you have heating problems. Well on my truck going on a three hour trip on the I5 straight road for 200 miles going 75 it reaches 180F. Its been higher before towing. I have a bigger cooler then stock. Maybe my gauge is bad? Any help?
