Soooo many trannie questions

First off as I pulled out from a stop (normal acceleration) the trans shifted from 1st to 2nd fine, but when it tried 2nd to 3rd there was a loud bang then nothing. The motor ran great but no drive power forward or reverse. It has always kicked like a mule so i assume something snapped and the trannie is toast.

I got a price for a reman from ford ($2000) with a torque converter and a 3yr 100,000 mile warranty.

Question 1- Is the reman a bad idea, will i have problems down the road. I plan on stage 1's but with a little one on the way that idea was put on the back burner for now (the ol lady put her foot down).

Question 2- What cooler to go with. Are the coolers with a fan worth while.

There are more but of course i can't think of them now, any and all info is greatly appreciated

If that reman is a Ford great if its a local shop I woudn't. Get the bigest cooler you can make fit. No need for a fan.

O yea I did not take it to just any old shop I took it to a transmission shop they are the best with in 100miles of me easy. They have been around awhile also Id take my stuff there before the dealer lol bc if the dealer doesnt drop a reman in they send it to CIT bc there no crap in there back yard they can push the truck from there lot to CITs shop.

Clean your lines and flush the rad cooler . Then install a filter on the output from the rad cooler then pipe into the bigest cooler you can get..Permacool makes good ones or get a 6.0 cooler. Throw the stock cooler away.
Do not use a Stallion or equal Tq without internal mods!
