fuel tank pickup?

I have a new to me 1997 F250 and it has a problem when feeding off of the rear tank. It only seems to be able to use about 8-9 gallons or so out of the rear tank. I am assuming it is a problem with the pickup tube but am not sure. Once I use about 8-9 gallons out of the back tank it start to stumble and when I switch to the front tank it pick right back up. Am I on the right track? Thanks, Mark.

Yes id say thats your problem, its possible the pickup tube broke higher up. Usually just the foot breaks off and you usually run out around 1/4 tank but i suppose anything is possible
