No low end power/ bad fuel mileage
I have a 97 with the old 7.3. Has 200200 miles. Engine is stock as far as I know. Just a 3" downpipe to 5" dump infront of rear tire. Ever since I bought it (186000) it has had hardly any low end power. I don't have any gauges. Runs fine starts fine. Quite a bit of white smoke when you fire it up. Recently I did the BB fuel pressure mod. It helped my mpgs a little bit and seemed to have a tiny bit more low end power. I put all new up pipes, gaskets and turbo gaskets on when I first got it. I also took the exhaust warm up flap off off. I also reseated valve covers and replaced the pigtails on the valve cover gasket plugs because some were melted off. Just on the outside harness though. I replaced the fuel pump on the top of the engine. From what I've said anybody have any ideas on why no low end power and bad fuel mileage? Also it has plenty of high end power. I've driven a buddy's 7.3 to determine mine is but less. It also has super duty axles with 3:73 gears. Any advice would be great.
