Noob question: oil in the valley !

So I have a real nasty oil leak. Drips a good puddle when driving and for a few minutes after I shut it off. I pulled the trans inspection cover and the rear main or pan, they look dry. Looks like its running down the starter and then out the vent of the inspection. Upon further investigation it looks like there is puddles of oil in the valley of the block and then running out the hole on the passenger side. So the question is what's leaking??

What are the usual suspects to check to see if they are leaking and if someone can hook up a link on how to check or disassemble parts to check that would be awesome
