Unhappy Truck died on wife while driving. Now cranks but no start.

So I just took this truck on a 400 mile hunting trip, going 4x4, over logs, up hills. Drove back home after the season, made one more short trip to town. My wife takes the truck on a 15 drive and calls me saying the truck died while she was driving it and wont start. The truck did this once before but at least sputtered, and white smoke came out. I had just bought it used and did not know anything about it, or diesels in general. Luckily there was a guy around that new about draining the bad fuel.

This seems to be different. I have drained it multiple times and still not even a sputter. The fact it died WHEN she was driving it give any clues? I dont make the kind of money to just tow my rig to a shop, leave it, pay, and pick it up.

Any kind of help appreciated. 96' F250 XLT 4x4 180K miles

^^^^^^^ what he said. Your first choice is the dealer. 2 nd choice is autozone o'rielly's etc.

Is the fuel bowl refilling itself ? Is the hpop reservoir full? Plug on top, Allen wrench.
