unhooked wire??

while i was looking at my engine today i noticed this wire that wasn't plugged into anything. Is this supposed to be like that? What is it? where does it go?Unplugged wire in 7.3 Powerstroke - YouTube

Looks like one of the wires to the fuel bowl.

Is it hurting anything the way it is? truck runs fine just noticed the wire that was sitting there

Probably either the fuel bowl heater or the water in fuel sensor. It's up to you whether you need them or not. I don't live where it gets very cold so I don't have my heater hooked up and I just use the fuel bowl drain valve every so often to drain water out.

Neither one of mine are hooked up.

That looks like the wire for the fuel restriction sensor. You don't say what year the truck is, but on a 94-95 it would connect on the sensor on the back of the fuel bowl towards the bottom. On a 96-97, the sensor would be on the fuel pressure regulator block (driver's side of the fuel bowl). Cheers!

My fuel heater wire looks exactly like that. Mine was disconnected for a while when the heater was broken........Might be that.
