95PSD engine problems: smoke from oil cap...

My 95 7.3PSD starts fine and runs well for about 15-20 minutes at 30-35mph and then there will be a mis, truck looses power (still drives though), check engine light comes on, sometimes there will be white smoke out the tail pipe sometimes not, today I noticed smoke/fog coming out of the oil dipstick tube and the oil fill opening.
Once I park the truck for a few minutes and turn it off and recrank it it is as if nothing ever happened. CE light is off and it runs fine for the 15-20 minutes.

Thanks for any ideas on this!
