Hard starting 97!! Help!
So I have a 97 - and a month ago it started having issues with starting. Initially, it was a crank or two then firing up, later developing into 4 - 6 cranks, until i was finally cranking it, turning the key off cranking it and then turning the key off, repeat until it starts.
What I have done; replaced the fuel pump, replaced the HPOP, replaced all fuel lines, put in new batteries and replaced the glow plug relay. Where I am having my biggest issues is that it starts great when it is cold - but after being driven for a while is when I am expierencing the hard cranking until it finally turns over. Hot engine, not turning over easily escapes me.
I bought this used and knew it had some new parts installed, alternator and starter. Thats about it.
I'm no mechanic and i bought this truck to learn on - but i am stuck and looking for any other possibilities. Cheaper the better - my wife hates the truck and is giving me a hard time about dumping money into it.
Sorry for the long post - just want to be clear. Thanks!
