7.3 PS - good idle but stalls under load
Hi, I'm new on this forum and I'm hoping someone could possibly provide an answer to the following problem with my '97 F250 7.3 PowerStroke.
The truck starts fine (unless it's been sitting for a long time, which then requires a bit of cranking - probably normal), but as soon as I put it in gear to drive it, it surges as if it is choking for fuel or air.
I changed the air filter and the fuel filter and it didn't do anything to help. I emptied and cleaned the bowl where the fuel filter sits as well, and after that it started no problem, so I don't think the problem is getting the fuel up there. However still the same surging and jerking when trying to drive.
Have to ride the clutch and feather the accelorator(?) in order to get it any distance.
Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks
