lpop torn up

my oil pressure at idle was at 15 lbs hot, so i decided to change my lpop, bought the melling m-208. engine ran great, 25 lbs at idle hot. went to work the next day and started runnjng rough, noticed the op at idle was less than 5 lbs, made it back home and pulled the pump, it was wasted, all chewed up and a broken pump gear. found a needle bearing in the pump. no idea where it came from. so i bought another pump, another 15 qts of oil and new filter op was up and went for a ride around the block. op droped to under 5 lbs and eng died, pulled the pump and it was all chewed up, can see the imprints of a needle bearing all through the pump. where in this engine is there small needle bearings ? anyhow, the engine came out today, its getting an ovehaul

tore it apart today, on # 3 cyl the lifter was all chewed up, so is the cam lobe. the small needle bearings came from the lifter. other than that everything looks good. re ringing it with new bearings, cam and lifters. i need to find a front cover, 1823536C-1. 1997 7.3 powerstroke. been running this truck on veg oil for over 55k miles, could not believe how clean the heads and pistons are

Veg oil, please tell. I am new to diesels and might be interested. Where do you get it, and what are the pros and cons? What changes need to be made to the engine?

works great, no cons so far, havnt had anything go wrong that is directly related to running veg oil. there are forums out there for running veg oil. start there lots of imfo. it is messy, colecting it and filtering it. i run a 2 tank system, you have to shut it down on diesel for the next start up. when the engine temp gets up to 160 degrees switch over to veg and enjoy the savings. made 2 trips across the us on veg ( roughly 6500 miles round trip) only burned 30 gal of diesel. the powerstroke is the best diesel to run on veg, no changes to the eng, just seting up the 2 fuel systems. i figure it cost me about $5 that is five dollars to fill up my 30 gallon tank. it is getting harder to find used veg oil becaues of the recyclers are paying for it restaraunts dont want to give it away if they can make a $.
