can IPR be bad without codes?
having what seems to be a fuel problem in my 97 I changed out my CPS with my spare and truck is still running poorly
it seems to run fine at idle for a bit then but if i go to drive it it sputters like no fuel hit the pedal hard and get power back with smoke then dies altogether the truck fires right back up but then does it all over again fuel filter is good I need to check my fuel pressure but would like your thoughts on this |

![]() Could be fuel pressure, ICP, IPR, UVCHs and pigtails possibly. |

My IPR went out with no codes. Truck would crank but would not start. No smoke or smell of raw fuel. The only indication prior to it failing was a code for low fuel control pressure and an occasional stumble in engine. Also throttle response was less responsive. However, didn't realize low throttle response until IPR replacement. Should have replaced it when I did HPOP. Good luck with it hope you figure it out

I'd check the fuel pressure, and if you can, check the pressure under WOT to see if it drops off significantly. When the high side of my fuel pump went south, it would idle all day, but would die under load with hard restarts. Cheers!
