Fuel leak only while driving?

Last winter i noticed a strong diesel smell when it started to get cold (about 40 and colder) it was wet on the back of the block and front of tranny but never noticed it drip in the driveway. Well then one morning a line from the filter to pump let go on my way to work. when i got home i pulled the filter canister out checked it real good for cracks put new hoses on it, put it alll back together started it up and all was dry! took for a test drive, looked again and noticed it was wet towards the back of the valley. watched the valley while it idled for about 20 minutes and didnt see a drop. i suspect the lift pump, but shouldn't it leak at idle too?

My 95 would only leak while driving and it was the pump. Pretty much all it can be if you replaced all the hoses and everything else was dry. Have someone raise the RPM's while running and see if it shows up. That's how I found mine.

my 96 did the same thing, its the lift pump im sure. try sticking a mirror down beside it while the truck is running, you will see it leaking and it will only get worse the longer you run it
