injector swap, no start

Ok pulled all my injectors yesterday, cleaned all the oil outta the cylinders by bumping the motor with the glow pulgs out, replaced all my injectors, orings, R/H valve cover gasket and all glow-plugs. Now motor cranks kinda fast for a min, the kicks once or three times, then cranks slow and SPEWS smoke outta the stacks but wont fire. What could I have missed? Harness is all plugged in, HPOP res is full, New fuel filter, about 40PSI at the schader valve on the fuel bowl while cranking.

There may still be air in the oil rails. It takes a while to purge the air out after an injector change. Keep trying in short bursts, letting the starter cool. Cheers!

Ok UPDATE!!!! After 12 hours of cranking (hopefully saving the starter) I figured out that my batteries are weak, swapped out for a set of brand new EXIDEs and cranked for a couple of cycles and up she fired!!! Had her running on high idle for 30 min now to warm her up and heading out for a drive! Will post back with a follow-up upon my return.
