Starter going out?
Over the last 2-3 weeks my truck has been developing a slow crank. Over these weeks its gradually gotten worse to were it's left me stranded twice. Mainly when I leave it sit for 6-8 hours or so over night, once I go to hop in it and start it. It just growls and growls and then pretty much dies like the batteries are done for.....
At first I thought it was the batteries until I was able to finally meter it.
After sitting 8-10 hours. With everything off I got 12.3-4 volts
Glow plugs on I got 11V
This is leaving me to believe the starter is bad? The starter on it isn't that old, could it be burning up starters maybe need a shim?
