lost all power
this morning started truck up let it run for about 10 mins while i finished getting my stuff together and when i went to leave it had no power, didnt want to move. no high rpms with foot to floor and took about 3 miles to get up to 45mph. got to where i was going shut it off and about 35 mins later went to start it up again and it conked out. 3 times. finally ran enough to get out of the way.
came back a few hours later and truck ran fine. now about 10 mins ago im doin 70mph let my foot off the gas and the truck pops, and spudders hard and has no power and starts to slow down and didnt want to move. WTF IS THE ISSUE NOW?!? or where do i start atleast... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :c onfused:![]() ![]() ![]() :b anghead:![]() ![]() ![]() :b anghead:

no truck has no gauges. bone stock. im thinking either air starvation or fuel starvation. it has an old k&n filter. not the greatest.
last night i took the top of the fuel bowl off and clicked the key and the bowl drained. but never refilled. |

Well i could be wrong but im thinking since you were able to drive it your not starving for fuel is the truck smoking alot

Well depending on year you could have mechanical pump which makes since to why it wouldn't fill up.

its a 96 and yes i relized that portion after the fact. and no the truck doesnt smoke a bit just runs like ****.
on the side of the fuel bowl it has a shrader valve. i put a tire gauge on it and got zero fuel preasure with the truck running is there a way to put a electrical fuel pump on this truck and eleminate all these problems and not have to spend an outragouse amount on everything else |

what are the chances theres a in tank fuel pump that is not operating or functioning right?

Your fuel bowl won't fill up when trucks not running because your stock fuel pump runs off the cam shaft and is located "under" your turbo. Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide |

Any chance your ebpv is sticking on your turbo (truck sounds like a jet engine) and at higher Rpm's it opens up? Sent from my iPhone using Autoguide |

i have a 96er myself. there have been a couple times where i lost power. once was do to a bad fuel pump and the other the IDM was dying.
