annoying fuel leak
So i've had two fuel leaks in the last week. First was the fuel restricted sensor, i ended up plugging that with a 1/8" brass counter sinking plug. I took the regulator off the bowl and out of the truck to make sure that it wasn't leaking anywhere else and put it back on. Now it is leaking fuel from under neath the regulator where the hardline goes from the regulator to the bottom of the fuel bowl. I know there is an o-ring there, has anyone had this problem before? i dont see the o-ring in the fuel bowl kits and would like to solve this problem and get my truck back on the road. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks guys

Same problem with mine, Ford can't find the part number. I found a Caterpillar o-ring that was close, but it's still leaking.

Dieselorings.com sells a repair kit for it with the mesh screen: Fuel Bowl Regulator Filter Repair Kit
It also looks like you could get the o-ring in this regulator repair kit a bit cheaper: Fuel Regulator Repair Kit Or you could do the complete fuel bowl reseal even cheaper: Complete Fuel Bowl Reseal Kit for the 1994.5 - 1997 Ford 7.3L Diesel Cheers! |
