Difficult Steering At Low Speeds

Hi, I own a 1996 Ford F-250 with the 7.3 liter diesel. I recently replace the vacuum pump, power steering pump, and serpentine belt. It all seems to be running well, but now it requires more force to turn at low speeds. I don't have any groaning and the fluid levels have been topped off with the correct ATF. I used a re-manufactured power steering pump and did not flush the fluid. Any feedback or solutions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

With your new reman steering pump i would recommending replacing all the fluid in the p/s system . I personally prefer steering fluid only in today"s systems . Using atf in yours just maybe the culprit of this problem you are having .
On my last PSD ,I used a large syringe and removed as much fluid as I could and topped it with an approved fluid and just drive for a day or so and then repeat same process till system had what I thought was good clean fluid . much quieter operation and smoother also .

Thanks, I used the ATF because that's what the manufacturer recommended.
