skipping at 2k rpm

Bought a 95 C&C truck to work out of a month or so ago. Truck has been flawless until last thurs. I leave for work, go over some RR tracks, truck dies. Wont start so i leave it in a parking lot and come back after lunch and the truck fires right up. Start home with it, dies again. Throwing random codes, and we hop scotch back to the house. Replace CPS and now it runs, doesn't die, but skips at 2k rpm. Doesn't skip before or after 2k. any ideas would be great. Thanks

oh and for all the fans out there, the truck has 68k original miles!!!!!! CHERRY
