Low Fuel Pressure?
Hey everyone! I am experiencing what seems to be a low pressure issue, whenever I start my truck up, it starts rocking real hard and sounds like it is knocking in the cylinders. When the truck warms up, the symptoms go away (of course) and then it runs normally and strong. My buddy connected his Edge Evolution Programmer on my truck just last night and diagnosed it and it threw a code saying that there was 0 psi in the injector control valve. Is that normal? The Evolution threw the code, so obviously there is something wrong. We looked it over and came to the conclusion that the fuel pressure regulator is going out or is completely shot. Do any of you have other assumptions? Suggestions? Thank you all for your time!

The Edge is saying that the Injection Control Pressure (ICP) sensor is reading 0 psi in the High Pressure Oil System (in which case it would not start). The fuel pressure is not monitored by the PCM (you have to use a gauge on the shrader valve on the Fuel Pressure Regulator to measure it). You should have at least 25 psi (I think) at a minimum crank speed of 100 rpm). Unplug the ICP connector (top front of driver's side head pointing inward at a 45 degree angle) and see if there's oil in it (shouldn't be). Cheers!
