My 1996 F250 with 7.3 PSD has gone into limp mode after attempting to upgrade the PCM program with an Edge Programmer P15000. Now the truck will only go up to 10 mph, then shuts down. If I turn it off and back on, it will run, but shutdown again at 10 mph. I've re-programmed the PCM chip back to the stock settings, replaced the cam position sensor, but still the truck is in limp mode. Can anyone tell me how to reset the PCM to cancel the limp mode. After replacing the cam position sensor, I am not getting any error codes, only a message that the system has passed. Please help.

Try disconnecting the batteries for a bit. You will probably get a P0603 code after that. Cheers!

I did that and your correct, I did get the p0603 error. Called Edge and they are sending two programmers, one to get it back to stock and one to program the performance perameters. I'll keep you posted.

You very likely will have to use Edge's stock re-write box to establish the original programming. This happened to a buddy's PSD and after using Edge's stock code writer, it programmed fine afterwords. I think he may have had a reflashed PCM and the Edge couldn't resolve it w/o rewriting it back to the original program first. Sounds like the folks at Edge are good at resolving that issue now.
Good luck. |

I have the edge in mine also. And been having some issues but i cant find anything that points right at the programmer. They have forced the stock progam in twice first time i thought it was fixed then went out 15 min. later and problem is back. Second time didnt have any effect at all. I think i am going to try a pcm from another truck and see what happens.
